Pumwani United Bags Koth Biro 46th Editions Title and Ksh 100k Courtesy of Extreme Sports

After weeks of exhilarating football extravaganza, the grassroots football tournament, the 46th edition of Koth Biro climaxed with two teams Kingston club and Pumwani United producing fireworks during the finals which was played at the muddy Umeme grounds Ziwani.

The game kicked off slightly late as it was scheduled to start at 3pm and at the end of 90 minutes duel ,Pumwani united emerged victorious upon beating Kingstone club two goals to nil which were scored in the first half of the game through their lethal striker Shaban AbubakarAbubakar grabbed the brace as he stroke both goals at 3rd and 38th.

Pumwani looked the strong team as it dominated and dictated the game in every department which disoriented the opponents not respond effectively through the numerous chances they wasted as they advanced to the territory of the enemy.

En-route to the finals, Kingstons and Pumwani United trounced their opponents in the knockout stages and emerged at the top as the finest teams in the tournament.

The Koth Biro Tournament has storied history dating back to the 1970s,originally conceived to steer young men away from the streets and offer them a platform to show case their soccer talents. Over the years it has evolved into a beloved event that draws participants and spectators from every corner of sporting community.

Just recently Koth Biro received a shot in the arm after entering into a partnership deal with Extreme Sports as part of the Super 8 League at 20 celebrations. “According to Extreme Sports Chief Executive Officer Hussein Mohammed, the collaboration with Koth Biro was a shared testament in promoting sports Excellency and community engagement at the grassroots level said Hussein”

Hussein’s message was delivered on his behalf by the head of operation at Extreme Sports Athanus Obango who represented the CEO as the Guest of Honor during the award presentation. He expressed unwavering support for the grassroots team as he had given an award of sh 200,000 contribution towards the prize money pool as the winner received Shs 100, 000, with first runners up securing 70,000 and the third place receiving Sh 30,000.

The timely sponsorship was aimed at empowering local grassroot football clubs and players and recognizing the transformative potential of sports in shaping their lives and serve as inspiration for others to emulate.

Koth Biro chairman Paul Ojenge “Polosa” thanked Hussein Mohammed for the support which saw the tournament reached its conclusion and appealed to other organizations of goodwill to come on board and partner with them for future tournaments.
