Nakuru County Football League Participants Over The Moon

For the first time, winners of the Nakuru County Football Association (CFA) League on 18th November received cash prizes during the inaugural awards ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by clubs, players, referees and coaches from both Football Kenya Federation and the County League who featured in the 2022/2023 season held at ASK Nakuru Showground.

Besides the league winners, the organizers and sponsors awarded the league’s outstanding players, referees, and coaches at a ceremony aimed at motivating all football stakeholders to give their best in developing the game.

The event’s co-ordinator Peter ‘Kasskass’ Kamau said their aim is to ensure Nakuru County regains its lost glory both in football development and nurturing talent.

“We are to ensure that all outstanding players, referees and coaches get a smile on their faces at the end of each season. This is aimed at uplifting the county’s football standards for some of our players to get selected into the national team, Harambee Stars as was in the past,” Kamau who is a former Shabana and Kisumu Posta striker told Sporty Kenya Journalists after the gala ceremony.

Extreme Sports Kenya, popularly known for their 20 year old grassroots tournament dubbed “Super 8” sponsored the Gala with Cash Prizes, with a cumulative Ksh. 100, 000.

The company’s head of operations Mr. Athanas Obango who stood in for the company CEO Mr. Hussein Muhammed said that the company is determined to supporting grassroots football at whatever capacity possible, hinting that the new ara in football Kenya is coming.

Hussein is romored to be vying for the Football Kenya Federation Presidential seat in next year’s elections.
