In recent revelations, shocking allegations have emerged about financial improprieties within the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). Employees tasked with preparing project budgets, such as Head of Projects Mike Kamure and Doreen Nabwire, are accused of colluding with FKF CEO Barry Otieno to manipulate project budgets over the past two years.
These bloated budgets allegedly facilitated the siphoning of millions of shillings, reportedly to bankroll Barry Otieno’s FKF presidential campaign.
This corruption couldn’t have occurred without the approval of FKF President Nick Mwendwa and Deputy President Doris Petra, who serve as co-signatories to FKF accounts. Any movement of funds requires their direct authorization, implicating them in enabling these financial malpractices. Their silence on this matter speaks volumes, as any investigation would inevitably place them at the center of the scandal.
This is a damning indictment of the FKF leadership’s integrity and accountability. Delegates must reject the candidacies of Barry Otieno and Doris Petra outright. FKF needs leaders who will champion transparency, not those with a track record of collusion and corruption. The time for clean and credible leadership is now.
