In a significant boost to their campaign, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Presidential candidate Hussein Mohammed and his running mate McDonald Mariga held a pivotal meeting today with delegates from the National Super League (NSL) and Division 1 League at a Nairobi hotel.
The gathering was marked by constructive engagements, discussions on football reforms, and a strong show of support for the Fresh Start ticket.
Hussein Mohammed presented his Fresh Start agenda, outlining actionable plans to revolutionize Kenyan football. His blueprint emphasized transparency, grassroots development, increased funding for lower leagues, and strengthening local talent pathways.
After his presentation, he invited delegates to ask questions and share their insights, ensuring an inclusive dialogue. Hussein’s prompt and articulate responses reinforced his reputation as a visionary leader committed to addressing the systemic challenges in Kenyan football.
The meeting drew representatives from 14 of the 20 NSL and Division 1 teams, including prominent clubs like Congo Boys, Fortune Sacco, Spitfire FC, Villa Luanda, Migori Youth, Compel FC, 3K FC, Sigalagala, Naivas FC, MOFA FC, AP Bomet FC, Nairobi United FC, Kibra Black Stars, and Equity FC.
These clubs collectively pledged their unwavering support for the Fresh Start campaign and committed to lobbying undecided teams within their leagues to rally behind Hussein and Mariga.
Adding weight to the event were Coach Francis Kimanzi, Kenyan football icon Victor Wanyama, and all NEC member candidates allied to the Fresh Start camp. Their presence emphasized the growing momentum and credibility of the Fresh Start movement.
This latest endorsement from NSL and Division 1 delegates is a testament to the confidence key stakeholders have in Hussein Mohammed and McDonald Mariga’s vision for a reformed, transparent, and prosperous FKF under their leadership.
