Successful Kick off of Nyamira Super 8 Tournament

The first round of the newly – launched devolved super 8 tournament successfully kicked off on Sunday at Rigoma Market Playing ground.

The tournament, which was launched earlier last week by the Extreme Sports CEO Mr. Hussein Mohammed in conjunction with the Football Kenya Federation Nyamira Region Chairman Mr. Lucas Mokua is part of the Super 8’s 20 year anniversary celebrations.

The first three matches were played on Sunday, with the hosts, Rigoma FC beating Riyale by a total of three goals to one, thanks to Felix Nyakundi’s brace and Thaddeus Mochache’s stunner. Riyale’s solitary goal was scored by Leicester Monene.

The second Match between Homeboys against Nyariacho saw Homeboys victorious with two goals to one. Homeboys goals were scored by Ezekiel Mainga Isco and Simon Ongeta, Nyaricho’s goal was scored by John Nyabuto.

The final match saw the two winners of the first and the second matches clash in a hotly contested knock out match with Rigoma going to the next round with a hard-fought-for two goal to one victory. Goals from Tiberius Mogendi and Thaddeus Mokaya sealed Rigoma’s victory while Homeboys got their goal from Brian Ongeta to see off Pool C of the tournament.

The next round of the tournament is scheduled on 9th December at Gesure playing ground. the Pool A fixtures will feature Gesure FC, Morako Fc, Ekerubo Golden and Star Junior Fc.
