Senate Halts County Football Associations Petition Against FKF Leadership

•

The senate committee on labour and social welfare led by its Chairman Senator Julius Murgor Recha yesterday on 30th November 2023, halted all discussions from the County Football Association’s petition against Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa.

In a meeting that sought to review the two antagonists progress on their “negotiations”, the committees chairman ruled that there had been deliberate reluctant of both FKF and CFAs to sit together and negotiate, hence terminating the process until both sides reach an agreement.

Our attempts to seek detail’s on what exactly Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and County Football Associations (CFAs) were to negotiate around bore no fruits as neither of the attendees did not have clear details on the matters.

The Senate Committee directed the petitioners to give chance to one of their member’s case at the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) to be determined before launching any new petitions through the senate.

The case is set to start on 7th of December, 2023, with expectations that by late January, a determination and ruling of the same shall be delivered.

Senate committee members present included Senator Julius Murgor Recha, Senator Steward Madzayo, Senator Enoch Wambua Kiio, Senator Faki Mwinyihaji, nominated senator Sen. Crystal Asige, among others.
